AHHH yes, I’m back again with yet ANOTHER breakfast recipe. I have been going through my blog over the last couple of days and have realised that breakfast recipes are TOTALLY my thing, as I tend to post a ton of these! So with that being said, I think it’s only fair to share my chocolatey morning oats discovery with you, topped with banana, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries with a dollop of peanut butter and dark chocolate chips – YUMMY!

OATS (enough for 1 serving of oats)

  • ½ cup raw rolled oats
  • ¾ cup almond milk/milk (I used Almond Breeze)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • a squeeze of agave nectar (for sweetness)
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence

TOPPINGS (OPTIONAL)

  • a handful of blueberries
  • a handful of blackberries
  • 2 strawberries
  • a few almonds
  • 1 tsp peanut butter (I used Wholefoods peanut butter)
  • 1 tsp dark chocolate chips

OATS:

To prepare this delicious brekkie, your oats will need to be made the night before and left in the fridge overnight to set. Add all of your oats ingredients listed above, mix and pour into a bowl, glass, mug or whichever display jar tickles your pickle for the morning of devouring. I know, it can be a tad stressful to decide how a beautiful breakfast should be served, but once a decision has arisen, pop into the fridge and let your oats stand overnight. Fresh toppings to be added in the morning.

Although, sometimes, one might prefer to add toppings the night before. This makes it easier to add a lid onto your jar of oats and allows for a quick grab out the fridge and off to work at whichever ungodly hour escaping needs to occur– yip, this happens to the best of us!  This way, you can feel more human eating breakfast when the sun comes up – WINNING!

TOPPINGS:

Add the toppings from the list above (cut your banana and strawberries into slithers) and plonk on top of your set oats, in the morning, or evening –  whichever floats your boat.

Serve with your cup of morning coffee at home or the office and enjoy!

Happy breakfasting!

THE EGG CAPPUCCINO

Hello all you Caffeine Cathy’s

How many of you Dandy Delilah’s are complete and utter caffeine lovers?? I sure am. In my world, it is a crucial and vital morning rule that coffee is as much of a morning necessity as your breakfast spoon is to your cereal!

Another rule of mine is that being offended before your morning coffee is an absolute crime and that is why I have decided to share my new cappuccino discovery with you.

How marvellous, right? Nothing could possibly go wrong when a frothingly delicious cappuccino is involved! My guilt free discovery involves the friendship of a raw happy chicken egg and French Vanilla coffee.

What you’ll need:

  • A Working Wendy Whizzer
  • One single, happy chicken egg (single and happy? What an odd combo!!)
  • A tiny teaspoon of courageous Coconut Oil (cold pressed)
  • 1 cup of Caffeine (I have chosen French Vanilla filter coffee)
  • A few sprinkles of your Cindy Cinnamon
  • However many spoons of Sally Sugar your heart desires
  • A positive Percy attitude
  • An Excited Elliot face
Courageous Coconut Oil

Courageous Coconut Oil

Steps:

To begin, it is of every level of importance to take that Excited Elliot face of yours and exert your Positive Percy attitude through it resulting in morning facial expressions unexplainable to everyone else around you in your household. You are about to indulge in caffeine and should be frolicking about with joy in the kitchen. Once you have mastered that, follow my easy instructions:

Crack your singly happy chicken egg into your cup and whizz/froth with your Working Wendy Whizzer until semi fluffy. After that, add your Tiny Teaspoon of Coconut Oil into your mug.

Once they’ve become friends at the bottom of your mug, interrupt their conversation with the pouring of your hot ready made black coffee (whether it be filter, Fancy Nancy machine coffee, or instant) into your mug.

French Vanilla Filter coffee

You now have your three best friends at the bottom of your mug. How lovely! Let’s add a fourth one to be fair – allow your Sally Sugar to make an appearance if your heart so desires. The heat from the coffee will melt your coconut oil to give some richness and a hint of flavour.

After that, invite Wendy the Whizzer to take part in the next step of frothing all of your ingredients. Hold the Whizzer just below the surface to get the creaminess and foaming going.

If you’re feeling like a Generous Jenny, sprinkle some Cindy Cinnamon on the top for decoration and taste.Your caffeine delight has now been transformed into a Serious Sally Cappuccino. Well done!
